Slade
Mama We're All Crazee Now

If you can imagine a little boy, dancing at the front of the stage to Slade. I loved Slade as much as a striaght man could without kissing them. Noddy was my hero, this song is loud and it reminds me of myslef as a young boy, noisey and naughty.  - Carl
Electric Light Orchestra - ELO
Eldorado Overture

Disclaimer: I wanted to choose the song simply entitled "Eldorado," but it wouldn't let me add the song as it thought it was already there. "Eldorado" is the climax of my favorite album (Eldorado, obviously). The depressing imagery in the song makes it sound like the speaker is giving his own elegy. This is one of the songs that moves me every time I hear it -- yes, it transcends pure musical goodness to achieve something entirely new. - Nebuchadnezzar
REM
Everybody Hurts

cos everyybody huuurrts sometimes!!!!!!!! through challenging times when i was a kid its such a sad song, when i had a miscarriage jus made me realise yeah im ok to hurt! - Hayles
The Muppets
Mahna Mahna

I'm sorry, but this one always makes me giggle. I had it on single when i was little and it still makes me smile. I get a bit anal when people say it was performed by Animal, but it wasn't. It was a one off sketch on the show with a caveman type character who had almost the same voice as Animal. - Fillyerboots
Mogwai
Killing All The Flies

There are probably as many interpretations for this predominately instrumental track as there are people who have heard it. The music starts off with a whispering melody, and atmospheric layers of distortion slowly begin to fall into place. Eventually it dissolves into crashing waves of sibilance and barely recognizable guitars with a heavily vocodered voice intoning 'Killing all the flies' over and over. I associated the song with existential angst, with the fear that is very real to some people (myself included) that nothing can ever matter, and that for all our ambition transcendence is impossible. Then we are nothing more than mere animals, flies perhaps, dying amidst as much sturm und drang as possible. Navel gazing aside, it's an incredible track, the crescendo totally overwhelming. My most played song. - Blindman
